About the society
The Lebanese Head and Neck Cancer Society is a non-profit association in formation. It brings together the people who treat head and neck cancer in Lebanon.
Our purpose
The society has three aims.
- Raise awareness of head and neck cancer, its prevention and its early signs.
- Support and fund research on head and neck cancer in Lebanon.
- Help patients in need get access to treatment.
How we work
We are multidisciplinary. Our members include head and neck surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, dentists, speech and swallowing therapists, nurses, palliative care teams and others who care for these patients.
We are multi-institutional. The society belongs to no single university or hospital. Members come from teaching hospitals, public hospitals and regional centers across Lebanon.
We are independent. The society is a charitable and educational association. It does not regulate the profession. Its physician members remain registered with the Lebanese Order of Physicians.
We are transparent. Patient and research funds are kept apart. Accounts are audited by an independent auditor. Members disclose their conflicts of interest.
The founding period
A Temporary Executive Committee steers the society from 2026 to 2028. The first elected Board of Directors takes over at the end of that period. See governance and our founding members.
